"What an excellent event. It really is one of the best I have been to around rivers - the right size and an excellent attendee list and very high level speakers"

On 1st & 2nd May 2024 SWV convened for the second Rivers' Forum at Lillibrooke Manor, Maidenhead. The event built on the first Rivers' Forum in 2023, with the main focus aiming to bring balance in the issues surrounding household waste along with other serious sources of pollution - specifically urban run off - including micro-plastics from tyres, fuel spills and agricultural pollution.

This year's event had a deeper and broader attendee list, and its impact can be demonstrated by the following comments sent as part of the event's feedback -

"The speakers and panel sessions were incredibly insightful."

"What an excellent event. It really is one of the best ones I have been to around rivers - the right size and an excellent attendee list and very high level speakers."

As well as tackling the river pollution crisis, the Rivers' Forum is also an event that creates opportunities for Veterans - not just at the event itself, but afterwards too. The companies and agencies that get involved with this event can be great points of contact, provide learning opportunities and open up doors for Veterans wanting to get involved in conservation, relevant tech' companies or job opportunities within such fields.

The next Rivers' Forum will be taking place on Tuesday 13th - Wednesday 14th May 2025
