Taking Control of Your Pain
“If only I had attended this programme shortly after injury – it would have saved me years of pain and related anxiety. Thank you SWV for setting it up for me, it is going to have a hugely positive impact on my quality of life.”
The main barriers to employment and being able to live a full life are chronic pain and problems with pain medication. We hear from many Veterans whose long-term and chronic pain has stopped them from reaching their full potential after leaving service.
To help, we set up the first Veteran-specific pain management programme with an introductory pain review.
Our pain management programmes are designed to help you access a diagnosis, develop a better understanding and management of your pain, to improve self-management and quality of life and confidence.
The first step to taking back control of your pain is to book a free online consultation with a Pain Consultant.
Pain Review Consultation
This is the first step of the Pain Management Pathway, and is helpful for Veterans needing confidential, one-to-one advice on:
– Pain management issues
– Medication review
– Advice on over-reliance on pain medication
Pain Resilience Programme
A Veteran-specific online course over 26 weeks.
In small groups with qualified clinicians, it helps Veterans struggling with chronic pain, providing the tools to understand and manage pain.
Please book a Pain Review Consultation in the first instance.
